Up, Up and Away ~ Part One

Day 13: January 18th, 2019

VISION FOR THE FUTURE ~ LOOKING ABOVE AND BEYOND (PART 1)

"Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest '? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. John 4:35 NASB

As we look above and beyond, we see thousands of people all around us who need the message of salvation. Many, are waiting to be harvested by loving laborers. In the next decade, the demographic experts say that our communities will continue to explode with thousands of new residents wanting to escape the fast paced life of the so-called big city. It is projected that by 2020, Flagstaff will have over 20,000 new residents living here. Who will reach out to these precious souls with the good news of Jesus?

We must take on this challenge. We must invite them in “from the highways and hedges.” We must open our hearts to receive them with love and acceptance. The time has come for us to enter the harvest field with compassion and grace. The time has come for us to join together to see God’s kingdom come into our homes, our neighborhoods, and our city. How can we do this? Primarily by seeing this as a challenge and not a problem. In the past, many people in the body of Christ hesitated and delayed moving forward in their faith, often times seeing difficulties as obstacles not opportunities, thus faith becomes paralyzed. This, too, demands the right spiritual vision. We must look above and beyond. Throughout the year of 2013, together, we are going to believe God to give us the insight – and the foresight – to do great things for His sake.

The result of our obedience, praying huge prayers and dreaming huge dreams will lead us to a place of great effectiveness that is above and beyond anything we have experienced thus far. Ephesians 3:20 encourages us with this amazing thought: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us…” Let’s take this step together, taking advantage of the opportunities afforded to us to “grow in grace” and watch God do something above and beyond all we can ask or imagine!

Prayer Focus: Today, pray for the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest field. Then pray this for yourself, “Father, I ask that you would grant me a heart of radical faith and show me my area of labor in the harvest happening at Church for the Nations - Flagstaff.”
